Proviron

Proviron is the most popular brand for the anabolic steroid Mesterolone. This AAS can be found as other brand names too. Mesterolone (Proviron) is an orally active androgenic and anabolic steroid and is derived from Dihydrotestosterone (DHT).

Like any other steroid, Proviron displays some anabolic activity, but the compound is known for its powerful androgen activity. That’s because Mesterolone is one of the purest DHT steroids you can find.

Proviron Uses

Proviron is still used in medical settings for various health conditions. Men are given this compound to treat depression, anxiety and to boost lack of sex drive. It has many other uses such as being given as a precursor to Testosterone Replacement Therapy and other uses.

But Proviron is often used by bodybuilders too. Despite it having a low anabolic activity and therefore not being very helpful at growing muscles – this AAS is still helpful. Mesterolone can be used as an alternative to Aromatase Inhibitors (AIs) with the bonus of boosting the efficacy of steroids. Is also used as a PCT medication sometimes.

Proviron Steroid In Bodybuilding

Proviron (Mesterolone) is one of the oldest steroids out there and bodybuilders started to use it as an anti estrogen. That’s because of its high binding affinity to aromatase enzymes. Therefore, bodybuilders can use this steroid as an AI alternative.

Some bodybuilders are still using it during their Post Cycle Therapy (PCT) plans. However, while mild, still remains a steroid and still suppresses LH in some cases. PCT is for recovering the production of LH so Proviron for such purposes, in some cases, might be counterproductive.

Yet, there are still cases when Mesterolone used for PCT leads to great results. In the end, if Proviron is used for PCT plans, we recommend short cycles and low doses.

So, Proviron (Mesterolone) is not great for growing muscles. Instead, its potential is seen when it is added to aromatizing anabolic steroid cycles. When a person uses Testosterone, Nandrolone, Boldenone, or Methandienone with Proviron – they would display a harder look. They get less water retention, less puffiness, and more vascularity.

You may think that it is all the same as an actual AI so there’s no point in adding Proviron. But you’re wrong. Mesterolone binds very well to SHBG and that’s going to help other steroids be way more efficient during the cycle.

Stacking Proviron

We do not recommend using Proviron alone. When used alone, you are going to be disappointed. The compound is worthless to be used alone, it is worthless for growing muscles. Instead, Proviron with Dianabol or other aromatizing compounds would be amazing. You grow muscles that are drier and you get a harder and vascular look.

Proviron Dosage

Keep in mind that Mesterolone (Proviron or whatever other brands) comes in the form of tablets. These tablets have a half life of 12 hours. The dosage of Mesterolone is between 25 and 100 mg a day. However, 50 mg daily of Proviron is the sweet spot for most people.

Proviron for women is not recommended at all – it has powerful DHT properties and low anabolic ones. The exact opposite of what a woman searches for.

Proviron Cycle

An example of Proviron cycle:

Dianabol 40 mg a day with Proviron 50 mg a day for 6-8 weeks. A low dosage of testosterone is recommended too.

You need liver protection because of Dianabol, but highly unlikely to need an actual AI. Proviron is not C17AA therefore, not liver toxic. May add supplements too.

After the cycle an actual PCT plan is important!

Proviron Side Effects

Proviron side effects are similar to other anabolic steroids. But this is a mild compound so they might not be as bad.

As mentioned, Mesterolone doesn’t convert into estrogen. As said, is not only the fact that you won’t get estrogen related issues, but Proviron will deal with them.

Plus, it is not C17aa, therefore it won’t cause liver stress.

Instead, Proviron may cause different side effects associated with powerful androgenic activity. That’s why acne, oily skin, male pattern hair loss, and others are possible. Especially if you’re prone to them.
